- Authors
Gonzalez, Matthew D.
- Abstract
The study conducted focused on women's leadership qualities and the perceptions associated with their leadership style. The study used dark and integral leadership traits as a basic frame for a woman's leadership style. To explore these styles, the study focused on answering 4 questions: 1) what are the perceptions of ethics in women's leadership, 2) to what degree are women recognizing their own dark leadership, 3) to what degree are women practicing integral leadership, 4) what role are women leaders responsible for in providing organizational and social responsibility? Specific areas of research involved in the study were communication, ethics, social responsibility, impression management, and leadership. Event Planners were used as the sample of women's leadership through a qualitative research approach involving 11 questions. The data captured helped identify that women still have mixed feelings on what they are perceived as in a leadership role, however, fully capable of leading any organization. The conclusion of the study suggests that women leadership qualities are a mixture of both integral and dark leadership depending on environment.
