- Abstract
The author presents an argument on finding creative gestures in comic mediums and the creations that argue against the insecurity discourses that have emerged related to the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York City. He describes comics as constituted by a corpus of published work, which means texts that penetrate the public sphere. He asserts that comics act as objects of mass culture and has a significant role in the production of collective memory due to their mass appeal.
