- Authors

- Abstract
The article offers information on neuroimaging techniques used to compare and contrast bipolar disorder (BPD) with schizophrenia, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography (PET). It discusses the classification system in neurobiological differentiation of BPD from schizophrenia and the distinction separating chronic psychiatric illnesses from healthy controls. It neither refutes nor proves the Kraepelinian dichotomy but shows evidence of overlasp between both disorders.
