- Abstract
This study was oriented to evaluate the Academic background, influencing in the aspiring students to enter the School of Accounting and Administration (FCA) of a public university in Mexico (UPM); taking into account, the conditions of those who were accepted and those who did not pass the requirements to enter the degrees, offered by the dependency, to determine whether if there academic equality in the income oportunities. The methodology applied, was a mixed triangulation design with variants of convergence and data transformation. The participating population in this research were 2173 applicants, who made their admission process to the FCA in the 2011-2012 school year, of which a simple random sample was taken, out of 385 applicants. The findings showed that the type of high school, did influence the average admission test, by knowledge areas of the admitted applicants to the FCA.
