- Abstract
The article discusses an innovative model of risk-sharing strategic alliances that allows pharmaceutical and biotechnology firms in the U.S. to maximize the number of new drugs brought to market without sacrificing investment returns and shareholder value. Key issues examined include the features of the new paradigm that require changes in perspective for both pharmaceutical firms and contract research organizations, as well as an analysis of the alliance between Solvay and Quintiles.
