Culture 101.
- Authors
Broome, Barbara
- Abstract
The article discusses how culture can influence a patient's response to health and illness from a urologic nurse's perspective. It is inferred that the first step in providing health care is for practitioners to acknowledge the diverse beliefs of America's populations. Advanced technology has been responsible for better diagnosis and interventions to promote positive health outcomes in the U.S. Health disparities should also be understood and dealt with to avoid discrimination in medical care.
