- Title
Scandal Brewing in Lincoln County.
- Authors
Gannett, Lewis
- Abstract
The article discusses the possibility that Abraham Lincoln had sexual relations with other men. The author's view is that Lincoln's relations with women is being publicized to obscure a homosexual scandal. The idea is that a legend about Lincoln and Ann Rutledge was dismissed by scholars. The late C. A. Tripp studied Lincoln's personality and sexuality. The Rutledge family history and knowledge about a romance between Ann and Lincoln is described in this article. The names of legend revivalists are given and their arguments are discredited by the author, who believes that Lincoln was not sexually attracted to women.
