- Abstract
The article discusses the role of the Rastafarian movement in Jamaica played in the national liberation movement in the country and throughout the African diaspora during from the early 20th century through the 1960s, through providing a psychohistorigraphic analysis. The relationship between the Rastafarians and anti-colonialist movements, including the influence that the Jamaican social activist Marcus Garvey's political views had in this regard, is discussed.
