- Abstract
The article discusses natural (ambient) environmental monitoring as of January 2012, focusing on the importance and effectiveness of ambient monitoring in the wake of a report of several gaps and flaws related to data obtained during monitoring. The natural resources monitoring of several U.S. ecological restoration projects in regions such as the Chesapeake Bay are examined. The effectiveness of carbon offsets in terms of ecological protection is also addressed.
