- Abstract
The article focuses on different roles played by B-Cell lymphomas in apoptosis or programmed cell death. B-Cell Lymphoma 2 (BCL-2) governs the mitochondrial activity and prevents apoptosis. The anit-apoptopic activity of BCL-2 has meant that they have becomes an important anticancer therapeutic enzyme. BAX and BAK proteins are responsible for mitochondrial membranes permeability which acts as release of apoptogenic factors such as cytochrome c and SMAC which activates caspaces.
