What tool is best for evaluating pain in children who can't self-report?
- Abstract
The article discusses a study, published in "Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology," which recommended the Paediatric Pain Profile (PPP) for assessing pain interference in children and adolescents with chronic pain who are unable to self-report. The study reviewed 33 studies and abstracts that studied psychometric properties of tools similar to PPP. Also cited are the psychometric properties of PPP and the other tools for children who are unable to self-report which show promise.
