- Title
Revealing the anaesthetising language of managerialism.
- Authors
Wheeldon, Anita Louise
- Abstract
This article discusses the language of managerialism and its impact on organizations and society. The author argues that managerialism has colonized companies and corporations globally, achieving total control and domination. The language of managerialism is described as a tool that camouflages contradictions and prevents emancipation. The author also highlights the expansion of managerialism in universities, where academics are dehumanized and universities behave as if they are profit-driven organizations. The article emphasizes the need for understanding and rejecting managerialism through methods of ideal speech and social change.
