- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the re-planning of junior science education in University of Ghana in West Africa. The university's implementation of a complete change-over is from learning of nature study information to science courses of practical experiment and discovery by the pupils. The basis is the university's major research in science education which has followed by 3 years of curriculum development. Researchers of the project concluded that the majority of teachers possess little basic scientific understanding themselves, and therefore are not in a very good position to impart understanding to others. For the teacher, the change-over to practical experimental science teaching is difficult. Much can be done to make the change possible and successful. There remained the problem of devising detailed instructions in experiential learning for pupils and in organization for the teachers.
