- Abstract
The article explores reconciliation and governmental restitution in the western U.S. Emphasis is given to a sedition law passed in Montana and posthumous gubernatorial pardons for sedition law victims. The article also discusses the relocation of Japanese Americans in U.S. concentration camps during World War II and the critical role of history and historical research through governmental inquiries. Focus is also given to the dispossession of Native Americans through a discussion of the Hualapai tribe and aboriginal titles to land.
