- Authors

- Abstract
The article focuses on the 'Guy de Chauliac,' manuscript in the British libraries, University of Missouri, Kansas City. The manuscript contains the complete text of version 3 of the author Guy de Chauliac's "Chirurgia Magna," in middle English, a version or translation which so far has been known only to be extant in a fragmentary shape in MSS Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. The textual relations between MSS Jesus College, Gonville and Caius College and University Library Cambridge, as representing Version 3, turn out on examina- tion to be rather close, further emphasized by the fact that their linguistic status, although it shows a somewhat mixed picture, on the whole appears to assign them to a northern part of the (South) East Midlands.
