- Title
BIBLICAL REFERENCES IN LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST.
- Authors
Shaheen, Naseeb
- Abstract
The article reports that editors of dramatist William Shakespeare often call attention to the biblical references in his plays, especially "Love's Labour's Lost," many of which pass unnoticed to the modern reader. But no Bible of Shakespeare's day has whether they will hear or whether they will forbear at these texts or anywhere else in these passages, the Authorized Version did not follow readings of earlier versions. It is essential that Bibles actually available to Shakespeare be used when pointing out biblical references in his plays, a practice that is often neglected.
