The article focuses on modernity and colonialism in poem "The White Man's Burden" in a Swedish travelogue and Swedish author Ludvig Nordström had established himself as one of the leading writers of prose fiction. It mentions ideas about industrialization, urbanization, and the need for collaboration between industry and the labor movement began to become political reality during the 1930s. It also mentions ideas of orientalism are combined with a Eurocentric interpretation of modernity.
