- Title
Policy on Third-party Fee Capping of Non-Covered Services.
- Abstract
The article presents information on the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's (AAPD) policy regarding the third-party fee capping of non-covered services as of 2012. According to the article, such capping favors larger dental benefit carriers, inhibits access to dental care, and effectively shifts the cost burden of dental care to the uninsured or other vulnerable populations. Topics include the American Dental Association and pending U.S. legislation prohibiting the capping of non-covered services.
