Ameloblastoma acantomatoso na cavidade oral de equino.

- Abstract
Alterações na cavidade oral em equinos podem refletir sistemicamente e apresentarem consequências importantes como perda de peso, queda de performance e, principalmente, do bem-estar. Dificuldades na apreensão, mastigação e/ou deglutição dos alimentos possuem variadas etiologias, e uma delas é a presença de neoplasias na cavidade oral, as quais são identificadas esporadicamente e podem ser odontogênicas, osteogênicas ou secundária (tecidos moles). Durante o curso de odontologia no Centro de Reprodução Equino Jacob, foi atendida uma égua Mangalarga Marchador, de 20 anos de idade e com queixa de perda de peso. No exame clínico intraoral, identificou-se a presença de gancho rostral nos dentes inferiores e massa tumoral na face lingual dos dentes 401 e 402, com aproximadamente 3 cm x 1 cm, superfície irregular, macia e não ulcerada. Após avaliação, o animal foi submetido à cirurgia para retirada dessa massa, a qual foi precedida de limpeza da região e aplicação de anestésico local (lidocaína 2%). A massa tumoral foi retirada cirurgicamente, além da debridação e curetagem do local para retirar o máximo de material possível. Aplicou-se também OralVet® para desinfecção e ajuda na cicatrização. A massa tumoral retirada foi enviada para análise histopatológica em formol a 10% (diluído 1 para 10). Na avaliação microscópica, observou-se que na mucosa havia discretos focos de espongiose e moderada acantose difusa, com ocasionais projeções intradérmicas. Na derme profunda havia proliferação de células epiteliais (acantócitos), com núcleos ovóides e cromatina frouxa, citoplasma escasso e alongado, dispostos em pequenas ilhas, apoiados em abundante estroma fibrovascular. Não foram observadas figuras de mitose em 10 campos de maior aumento (Obj 40x). Encontrou-se, ainda, leve deposição de material fibrilar eosinofílico (fibrina) associada à pequena quantidade de hemácias livres (hemorragia). Com base na avaliação histopatológica, diagnosticouse morfologicamente a massa como ameloblastoma acantomatoso, o qual é caracterizado como um tumor epitelial benigno, odontogênico e não indutivo derivado de células geradoras do esmalte dentário. Em síntese, o prognostico é favorável e o bem-estar do animal pode ser reestabelecido após a retirada da massa.
