- Abstract
This article focuses on the conceptual changes which takes place in students in science education. The parallel for conceptual change in the individual student in formal education is the type of conceptual change which has been documented in the history of science. Understanding important nuances of meaning or interpretation assumes paramount importance in a special case of the historical development of a science. A problem in both science education and the spread of a new scientific paradigm is that not only the changes of meanings but the meanings themselves.
