- Abstract
Pregnancy involves a complex scenario, in which the recognition of social determination, cultural, emotional and family diversity is involved. According to the descriptive analysis of the sociodemographic profile of the 19 pregnant women, it was observed that 63% of the interviewees were between 20 and 29 years old, 63% declared themselves mixed race and 5.2% had completed higher education. 63% of the pregnant women interviewed reported being single, this finding corroborates data released by the National Confederation of Municipalities, in which, in 2019, it was shown that in more than 42% of homes, the woman lives with her children, without a husband or partner. Furthermore, 47.2% of pregnant women interviewed made at least one visit to the dentist in the last 6 months and 89.2% believe that there is a need for dental treatment during the gestational period. Regarding guidance on oral hygiene, the majority of pregnant women stated that they had received guidance during this period. Conclusion: There is a need to demystify dental care during pregnancy, ensuring that pregnant women receive complete and appropriate care for their health during this period. This implies the dissemination of accurate information and collaboration between Oral Health teams and Family Health teams.
