A reprint of the article "Hepatitis C and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people: closing the gap," by Heather McCormack which appeared in the July 27, 2015 issue of "The Guardian" is presented. It discusses the effect of hepatitis C on the health of Aboriginal people in view of several factors including historic neglect by Australia's health sector, over-incarceration, and racism. It emphasizes the need for extending needle and syringe programs (NSP) to Aboriginal people.
