- Abstract
The article focuses on the United States Department of Commerce, its budget, administrations, offices, agencies and bureaus. An overview of how publishing decisions are made throughout the department is presented with specific consideration given to the department's most popular publications. The operations of the National Technical Information Service of the Department of Commerce are described, including its technical orientation and bibliographic databases. Information related to the sales, circulation, and frequency of publication for various periodicals are presented.
