Reports Show Strong Labor Market and Starting Salaries for Scientists and Engineers.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the results of surveys of science and engineering workforce in the U.S. conducted by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE). There was a 4.35% increase in the number of individuals working in science and engineering occupations in 2006. The number of new science, engineering and health graduates with degrees earned in academic years 2003-2005 reached 1.9 million. NACE found that engineering graduates will receive some of the highest average starting salaries in 2008.
