- Title
Teaching Professional Ethics to Educators: Assessing the "Multiple Ethical Languages" Approach.
- Authors
Vokey, Daniel
- Abstract
This article evaluates the multiple ethical languages approach in teaching professional ethics courses to educators. Joan Shapiro and Jacqueline Stefkovich, authors of the book "Ethical Leadership and Decision-Making in Education: Applying Theoretical Perspectives to Complex Dilemmas," understand the ethics of justice, critique and care as complementary perspectives on the ethical issues faced by school administrators. Enhancement of practical judgment requires something in moral life that fulfills a function analogous to experimentation as suggested in comparing the conditions of progress in scientific inquiry.
