- Abstract
The article highlights a report on meeting of Japan and Europe from 1582 to1590 on the Tenshō embassy given to Pope Gregory XIII and king of Castile and Portugal Philip II. It mentions several objective of the meeting including to make Japanese people meet to the civilization equal to Europe; to show Japanese unique identity to European people; and to highlight the efforts of members of the Society of Jesus in the East to the pope.
