- Abstract
In this article, the author reflects on a speech by scholar, anti-prison activist, and former political prisoner Angela Y. Davis about inviting and incorporating instructional approaches to jail and prison classrooms. Topics include Davis' experiences with teaching incarcerated women, the positive changes that result from coalitional formations that link academic communities and imprisoned communities, and the deprivation of post-secondary education in prison.
