- Abstract
This concluding article discusses two key themes that emerged as salient and shared across the contributions that comprised the special issue. The first theme is the potential promise mindfulness-based interventions (MBIs) seem to hold for Christians of Color (CoC), including the fact that many mindfulness constructs and practices have a counterpart in Christian traditions and connect with values of social justice and liberation theology. Subsequently, the second theme identifies particular considerations for adaption of MBIs with CoC, such as the need to disclose and discuss the Buddhist origins of mindfulness with CoC clients. We conclude with a brief discussion of recommendations for future research and practice.
