- Abstract
An essay that offers a philosophical analysis of school lunch is presented. Topics discussed include the exploration of the school lunchroom as a site of disciplinary powers, an examination of school food and an outline of practice the author calls alimentary freedom that reflects his belief in the possibility that human bodies can be reclaimed and liberated. Also mentioned are the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) as well as re-interpreting food as a pleasure that can lead to happiness.
