- Title
Omitted variables in longitudinal data models.
- Authors
Frees, Edward W.
- Abstract
The article describes regression coefficient estimators, unbiased in the presence of omitted variables, and provide the basis for the detection of the presence of omitted variables. It also presents estimators that are suited to omitted variables in different settings, that are simple to compute and explain. A known model specification issue in regression analysis and mixed linear models including longitudinal data models, is the omission of important variables.
