- Abstract
We report here the case of a 27-year-old primigravida who was referred to the Clínica Diagnóstico por Imagem, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the evaluation of a fetal intracranial tumor observed during the routine third-trimester growth scan. The images showed the large tumor in the prenatal period, enlargement of the brain a few weeks later in the neonatal period and the disproportionate development of the brain and tumor at 8 years, the latter showing slower development. Tumors of the fetal neck and head are rare congenital malformations and their prenatal diagnosis is important for planning perinatal management.
