- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines the efficacy of herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase (HSVtk) and granulocyte–macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) in treating cancer. The study used bicistronic vectors and flow cytometry to examine the biological behavior of HSVtk and GM-CSF. Results show that the bicistronic constructs with HSVtk killer gene and human or mouse GM-CSF gene provide coexpression of therapeutic genes for designing drugs in genetic therapy.
