- Abstract
This paper focuses on the need to develop specific ethical guidelines for marriage and family therapy supervisors when dealing with impaired therapists and/or therapists-in-training. The impaired marriage and family therapist was categorized in three ways: Unresolved family of origin issues; Emotional instability; and False competency. Specific case studies are provided to illustrate each category.
