- Abstract
This article presents an interview with Amitava Bose, a faculty member of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC). Bose talks about the Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) and their role in management education in India. When asked about the about the elitism of the IIM, Bose said the IIMs are elitist because of their academic exclusiveness. The Post-Graduate Programme (PGP) is among the best in the country. Because of the high credibility enjoyed by the meritocratic PGP, students get excellent placements. According to Bose, the vision of IIM was to produce managers who would perform with equal ease no matter where they might be located.
