Life goes on: a call to action.
- Authors
Chambers, Hank
- Abstract
The author discusses how parents can help their children with chronic disabilities to survive adulthood. He explains that their children turning 18 or 21 means moving into living situations which may not be of their own choice and dealing with chronic pain and depression, losing access to the specialists who have been taking care of them since they were young. He encourages parents and medical personnel to act locally to develop adult providers who will have the same respect and ability to help children overcome their disease.
