- Abstract
The article discusses case study of a 49-year-old patient with severe atopic dermatitis with family history of atopic eczema and asthma. It is noted that diagnosis of immunological contact urticaria caused by silk was confirmed after performed radioallergosorbent (RAST) tests and the patient was advised to avoid all contact with silk in the future. It also discusses silk as an allergen causing type I allergic diseases.
