- Abstract
The article argues on the problems in diagnosis and treatment of post-kala-azar dermal leishmaniasis (PKDL) in HIV-positive patients on antiretroviral therapy (ART). It presents a case study of a 45-year paramilitary man who had a relapse of visceral leishmaniasis (VL) after experiencing a facial eruption and treated with oral miltesfosine. The skin lesions indicate an immune reconstitution inflammatory syndrome.
