- Title
Diagnosing paediatric multiple sclerosis versus acute disseminated encephalomyelitis.
- Authors
Pobl, Daniela
- Abstract
The author comments on the diagnostic dilemma of paediatric multiple sclerosis (MS) versus acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM). According to the author, the advent of MS disease modifying therapies shifted the differentiation of MS versus ADEM from a more academic question to a decision with crucial therapeutic implications. He suggests everyone to be careful not to interpret data in the sense of self-fulfilling prophecies since their is no simple test to secure the diagnoses of MS or ADEM.
