- Abstract
This article examines the popularity of Mordecai Richler's writings in Israel. According to the author, Richler's name as a Jewish author has been made example of a Canadian cultural icon in Israel, noting that many Jewish countries find interesting Jewish writers who depicted the Diaspora experience. An overview of the cultural relations of Canada and Israel is given. The author looks at the reception of Richler's works by the general public, the academic world and the Anglophone population.
