- Authors
Johnson, Brian
- Abstract
Presents literary criticism of the 20th-century Canadian novel "Cocksure" by Mordecai Richler. Details are given noting the highly satirical and graphic tone of the work. Questions are offered seeking a deeper analysis of the work's aggressive criticism of the social implications of postmodernity beyond popular dismissal of the text for its alleged vulgarity. The author's parody of film culture is particularly explored in the novel's main character.
