- Abstract
This article discusses a study that aimed to identify protein signatures associated with the response to poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitors (PARPi) in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSOC). The researchers conducted a proteomic analysis of cancer tissues from HGSOC patients who received PARPi treatment and identified differentially expressed proteins between good and poor responders. They found that stearoyl-CoA desaturase 5 (SCD5) was upregulated in the poor response group and may serve as a potential predictive biomarker for PARPi response. The study provides insights into predicting PARPi responses and suggests potential strategies for personalized treatment in HGSOC patients.
