Identification and pest status of two exotic flea beetle species newly introduced in Portugal: Epitrix similaris Gentner and Epitrix cucumeris (Harris).

- Abstract
The article presents a study which identifies the status of two exotic beetle species as agricultural pests introduced in Portugal. The study found out that all adult insects that were present in three damaged potato tubers were identified as belonging to the genus Epitrix (E) Foudras, E. similaris, and E. cucumeris. The study emphasized that two beetle species differ in body colour and shine, elytral pubescence, and genitalia.
