- Title
INSECT JUVENILE HORMONE.
- Abstract
The article discusses the report of E. J. Corey and Hisashi Yamamoto of Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts that insect juvenile hormones have been synthesized directly in pure form by a new method. In the November 4, 1970 issue of the "Journal of the American Chemical Society," Corey and Yamamoto explained that substantial amounts of the two known Cecropia juvenile hormones have been produced without the troublesome formation of related compounds. A study showed that juvenile hormones may be an effective pesticide if applied during the proper period in the life cycle of the insect.
