The article critiques the poem "The Mongrel," from Canisia Lubrin's 2017 poetry collection "Voodoo Hypothesis." Topics discussed include the imagining of the Caribbean and racial identity of the mongrel by Lubrin, the use of mathematical symbols by Lubrin to highlight the relationship between natural sciences and mathematics, and the subjects addressed in the poem such as Blackness, history, and memory.
