The author contends that reading the works of Canadian author, singer, songwriter and poet Leonard Cohen from a Neo-Baroque perspective allows the perception that his poetry and voice respond to contemporary context in a transnational approach wherein the sacred plays a main role. Topics discussed include the author's first encounter with Cohen's works, Cohen's posthumous collection of poetry, and Cohen's "Book of Longing."
