- Title
The Steveston Noh Project: "The Gull" as Intercultural Redress Theatre.
- Authors
Waisvisz, Sarah; Vellino, Brenda Carr
- Abstract
The article examines the multi-artist process which led in the development of the intercultural creative team, the training of the artists and the performances of the Canadian Noh play "The Gull." Created by Daphne Marlatt, the play is a story of two brothers who returned to Canada after their family's World War II internment. Particular focus is given to the Buddhist contemplative ethos found in the design, choreography and thematic structure of the Steveston Noh Project (SNP).
