CHAPTER 1: The Rise of the Russian Intelligentsia.
Abstract
The article discusses the rise of the Russian intelligentsia, which was directly related to German Idealism, whose influence was felt during the 1830s and 1840s. No less significant was the influence of the religious worldview that was the intelligentsia's prime object of discursive consideration. Another critical factor is the mechanism of identification and self-reflection that has historically characterized the intelligentsia.
