Communication médiatique et représentations de la Turquie : l'imaginaire turc de la France à travers la presse quotidienne.

- Abstract
Between May 2004 and May 2005, polls and surveys revealed that most of French people were opposed to the potential integration of Turkey into the European Union. National daily newspapers such as Libération, Le Monde and Le Figaro, were interested in the interplay between political circles and public opinion, the main characteristics of which were often mentioned and discussed. Study of the articles published during that time indicates the written press generally takes into account the ethnosociocultural representations pervading the French collective imagery. Many authors even denounce the confusions feeding hetero-representations but also auto-representations, as well as the risk constituted by the inappropriate use of public opinion. Our analysis of discourse aims at bringing out the words of « the Turkish imagery in France » and shows if this vision of Turkey is perceived as prevalent, irreversible and harmful.
