- Abstract
Few places in the U.S. can be considered less progressive than the state of Mississippi. Already staunchly conservative, the election of Donald Trump emboldened regressive elements within government and the state generally. Yet even in Mississippi there are stirrings of resistance to a Trumpian agenda, with prospects improving for sustainable progressive political developments. The paper attempts to the take Mississippi's progressive pulse at the current moment, and speculates on the prospects of a future progressive politics in this reddest of red states.
