- Abstract
The article analyzes in the decision of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Meriwether v. Hartop that Shawnee State University violated Professor Nicholas Meriwether's First Amendment right to free speech. Topics discussed are free speech in the context of public academia's pedagogy, balance between free exercise clause and protection of people, due process vagueness in discrimination policy, and religious reasons exception within protective policy.
